Hi everyone,
Jennifer and Aaron here, we are the survivor chairs of Relay for Life Wexford 2024.
To coincide with Survivor Registration commencing for this year’s event, we just wanted to give a quick introduction. You can read our "Why I Relay" blog posts to learn a little bit more about us and why we got involved in Relay For Life Wexford.
So just to give a quick overview of the Survivors event at Relay for Life Wexford
We invite survivors to register to attend the event at this link: https://www.relayforlife.ie/event/wexford/survivors-form
On Saturday, 29th June, survivors are expected to arrive at the survivors' tent around 12-12.30 pm. The following hours will be dedicated to a meal, entertainment, and a joyous celebration of our survivors.
Just before 2 pm, all survivors are invited to walk the first lap on the pitch, marking the official opening of Relay for Life Wexford 2024. During the second lap, survivors' families, carers, and anyone who supported them through their challenges are encouraged to join.
Following the second lap, we will return to the survivors' tent for dessert, a raffle, and more entertainment, concluding our survivors' event for 2024.
We really couldn’t do this without the continued support of Pettitts Supervalu St. Aidans. They are instrumental in ensuring that survivors receive the quality experience they deserve at Relay For Life Wexford. Their contributions, including lunch from Pettitts Kitchen on the day of the event, make a significant difference, we genuinely couldn’t do it without them!
Volunteers are essential to the success of Relay For Life Wexford, and individuals are encouraged to lend a helping hand in various capacities. Whether it's setting up, serving lunch, or assisting with other tasks, every contribution is invaluable in creating unforgettable moments and meaningful connections. If you’d be interested in registering to volunteer, you can do so here: https://bit.ly/3VKE3bN
In addition to event preparations, Relay For Life Wexford is proud to share inspiring stories from survivors through its blog. Each post serves as a beacon of hope, highlighting the incredible strength and resilience of individuals who have faced cancer. All our blogs can be found here. If you’d be interested in contributing, please do get in touch.
We are bursting with excitement for this year's event!
