The committee and extended relay family were delighted when we heard that Yvonne was nominated as a Global Hero of Hope!
Yvonne Keane, team captain of Sole Mates, was named a 'Global Hero of Hope' by the American Cancer Society earlier this year. Heroes of Hope are cancer survivors who inspire hope, courage and determination in the fight against cancer. Yvonne joins heroes from countries including South Africa, America and Japan.
A highly visible symbol of a personal victory over cancer, the Global Relay For Life Heroes of Hope and their stories encourage support of and participation in Relay for Life in each participating global cancer organisation.
Relay for Life Wexford is so proud to have Yvonne as their ambassador, always getting the word out there about this great event and constantly raising awareness. Read Yvonne's story here:
On 13/14th of July this year, for my fourth year running thank god and along with many other cancer survivors, I will wear the purple survivor t-shirt with pride at Relay for Life Wexford. This event raises vital funds for The Irish Cancer Society, but not only that Relay for Life gives us so much more. It gives us courage, hope, support, friendships, love and laughter. It also gives a face to cancer in our communities, our mums, dads, sisters, brothers, aunts uncles, sons and daughters. These are the people affected by cancer, each one is somebody's someone so please help our fundraising efforts by coming out to support Relay for Life on 13th/14th July 2019
