My name is Lorraine foley and I’m 47 years of age. I was diagnosed with a very rare mucinous ovarian cancer in 2017. Since then I have had a radical hysterectomy and I have been on my chemo journey. I have been overwhelmed by the help and support I received from Wexford General Hospital, Waterford Regional Hospital, The Mater Hospital in Dublin and also St. Vincent's hospital in Dublin. The amount of work and care that is given to cancer patients is exceptional even the simple 'how are you’ phone call from the cancer nurse to make you feel you’re not alone and I am definitely not alone. We all know someone who is either fighting cancer, surviving cancer or who has lost loved ones to cancer. Sadly I lost my brother and my sister in law to cancer and I have family members and friends who are cancer survivors. 

Cancer is not going anywhere and our healthcare system is being neglected year after year by the government. Because of the generosity of the Irish people and their support for the Irish Cancer Society, the society in turn can support people who are going through cancer and help them in their fight against this horrible disease! We won't stop until cancer does!
