Registering Your Team
When you register, you will automatically be given an online fundraising page set up for your Team. An email will be sent to you shortly to activate your page. You can use this to share with friends and family to collect donations online.
How we use your info
The information you have provided will be kept securely and used by the Irish Cancer Society in order to make your participation possible. Your information will only be shared with selected third party service providers, contracted by the Irish Cancer Society to assist with our campaigns. Your information will not be shared with any other organisation, other than with your permission, or where required by law.
By providing your email address and phone number above, you are agreeing to be contacted about this event by Relay committee members and the Irish Cancer Society. By signing up for the event or campaign you will receive a confirmation email and subsequent communications by email, phone or SMS from the Irish Cancer Society to provide you important information about your participation.

Terms and conditions
I/We understand that any interviews/photographs/or films taken will be used for Irish Cancer Society publications/promotional materials, the Irish Cancer Society website or other media sharing site (e.g. YouTube).
I/We understand that the Irish Cancer Society may also use the interview/photograph/or film for the purpose of highlighting cancer and cancer issues to the media and general public with a view to achieving the organisation’s mission.
The Irish Cancer Society will ask your permission where possible if we wish to re-use an interview/photograph/or film that we have taken, and explain in what context it will be used.
I/We understand that the Irish Cancer Society cannot control re-use where interviews/photographs/or films have been taken by an outside organisation.
Fundraising disclaimer

We want you to enjoy your fundraising activities and stay safe! The Irish Cancer Society accepts no liability for any loss, damage or injury caused during the event you undertake.
Fundraising activities and events organised by Relay For Life teams in advance of Relay for Life 2023 are not covered by the Irish Cancer Society’s insurance policy.
Teams who are planning activities in advance of the event must seek their own
Independent insurance advice and arrange appropriate cover.
The Society’s insurance does not cover property or the property of your helpers and guests, nor does it cover your personal liability for any injury suffered by yourself or your event participants.
Remember to use common sense when it comes to health and safety. Where food is involved, please take care and work to ensure safe preparation, storage and cooking. Please follow good hygiene practises.
Please ensure that you and your team adhere to all current Government Covid-19 guidelines and restrictions.
The Fundraiser agrees to release the Irish Cancer Society to the fullest extent permissible under law for claims and demands of any kind, and from all liability that may arise in respect of any damage, loss or injury occurring to any person, except where such liability arises because of the negligence of the Irish Cancer Society or its agents.
The Irish Cancer Society reserves the right to terminate the agreement relating to an event at any time if it appears that a likelihood of the Fundraiser failing to adhere to any of the above terms and conditions.
Fundraising activities and events organized by the RFL teams in advance of the RFL event are not covered by insurance. Teams must seek their own insurance advice. Third party suppliers and vendors are not covered by the RFL Insurance Policy. They must provide copies of their own insurance.
These conditions are laid down in order to safeguard the integrity of those seeking and those giving sponsorship and to comply with the wishes of the Gardaí.
Compliance with fundraising guidelines
We are committed to ensuring fundraising is carried out ethically and safely according to Government legislation and, the Charities Institute Fundraising Guidelines and the Charities Regulator guidelines on fundraising from the public. Please make yourself aware of these ahead of planning your event. Details of current fundraising guidelines can be found on our website here.
Your Fundraising
- Please ensure that you and your team adhere to all current Government Covid-19 guidelines and restrictions.
- All activities must be conducted in accordance with all applicable laws.
- If you are organising a collection or raffle where tickets are to be sold to the public, you should contact your local Garda station for advice.
- Your events should clearly indicate that they are run by the Relay For Life team in aid of Relay For Life Donegal and the Irish Cancer Society.
- The Irish Cancer Society’s “Event Planning Guide” provides useful information and guidelines for the planning of large events. Please ring 0818 10 20 30 for more details.
- Please contact your Relay For Life Committee before contacting local businesses for contributions, or sponsorship.
Cash Handling and Banking
To comply with auditor requirements and to preserve the integrity of the organiser, it is required that at least two people are involved if there is a need to count & remit proceeds. All net proceeds must be submitted to the Irish Cancer Society or to your Relay For Life committee within 30 days of the conclusion of the Relay For Life event.
Insurance
Fundraising activities and events organised by Relay For Life teams in advance of the event are not covered by the insurance policy for the Relay For Life event. Teams who are planning activities in advance of the event must seek their own insurance advice and arrange appropriate cover.
