Why I am fundraiser at Relay for Life with JKS Tallaght
Hello Everyone,
My name is Eoghan Kennedy and I raising funds for the Irish Cancer Society - Relay for Life because recently my brothers and I lost our Mam, Marie Reynolds to a short battle with cancer.
Our mam was planning to live with cancer over the next few years and had no intention of letting it win. The plan would have been to avail of the services provided by the Irish Cancer Society such as the driver service for appointments, the night nurses and other bits and pieces.
Unfortunately, our Mam passed away on the 26th of February 2025 a mere four weeks after telling the family about her diagnosis, all the family have been left shocked and numbed with how quickly we went from supporting our Mam battling cancer to the realization that she’s no longer with us.
Her loss has been devastating not just to our Family but to Marie's friends, co-workers and extended karate community. In an effort to help everyone heal from our mam’s loss, my brothers and I have decided to enter JKS Karate Tallaght as a Team into this year’s relay for life.
We will be fundraising in honour of our Mother, knowing she would be proud of us participating in the Relay for Life as we are giving back to the community.
Any donations are welcomed, and we would like to invite everyone to join us on May 31st to be part of Relay for Life
