My Relay for Life event

I’m raising funds to support cancer patients and their families across Ireland. You can show your support too, by making a donation to my page today.

This year I'm taking part in the Midleton event at CBS Midleton, Co. Cork. An amazing community event that will take place over 24 hours.

Giving back this time around!

If you know me, I've been through leukaemia treatment...twice! A Bone Marrow Transplant and all! That means a lot of hospital stays and visits since 2021. Every time I've gone in for treatment in Cork or Dublin, I have had to pass an Irish Cancer Society Daffodil Centre. Seeing them just be there, hand out information, explain confusing diagnoses, and be a comfort to people who are going through the trials of having cancer.

So now that I am well enough, it's time to give back! Help me along and give a bit back for cancer research!

My Story

Wednesday 14th Aug
I was diagnosed with B-Cell ALL Leukaemia at 27 in November 2021. I got treatment in 2D in CUH for 10 months. I was in complete isolation due to being neutropenic. I was kept upbeat and strong by the amazing staff on the ward for those months. I contracted sepsis and had multiple infections while getting treatment. I thankfully was in remission and allowed home in August 2022 finally. I was back at work in October while in maintenance.
Then I relapsed in January 2023. They found cells in my Cerebral Spinal Fluid! I was on immunotherapy then for a few weeks while I was in line for a Bone Marrow Transplant. I got it on the 4th of May 2023 in St James Dublin (I'm a Star Wars day baby now!) I have slowly gotten back to somewhat normal since then.

Without the Doctors, Nurses, Housekeepers, Helpers and even the porters in both hospitals, I wouldn't have had a great time during treatment. They are all gems and I can't thank them enough, so why not give back this way?

Thank you to my Sponsors
